Rosie is a Certified Peer Specialist. She works with the marginalized populations of the greater Seattle Metropolitan area. She sees the effect of addiction, homelessness, mental illness, low wages, and limited resources have on the population. She herself has been homeless, living with addiction and mental health. Finding out that, as a child she was diagnosed with ADHD. It was only "treated" for about six months. Which ultimately led to her depression and other struggles throughout her life. She understands what the people are experiencing. She provides a unique perspective that is missing within the walls of government agencies. And with her Trauma informed care approach Rosie will breathe new life into the Kent City Council. She will work towards eliminating the homeless population, not by making their existence illegal, but by getting the housing that is needed. Finding funding and making programs to help the underserved, often overlooked, and marginalized populations. After all these are Human Rights.
